Moloian
This 1904 Victorian Style Home is located in Portland’s Irvington Neighborhood. The home was originally a guest house to the main house, later to be subdivided and converted into a single family home. The kitchen underwent a 1980s period remodel with light oak cabinets and royal blue walls. Our client is a designer for a leading high-end tile company and dreamed of a grander kitchen in his home. He was referred to us by a client whom we completed a project for two years prior. We put our heads together along with our kitchen designer to restore the kitchen to a 1904 theme with crisp White Platinum Medallion Cabinets, honed Carrera Marble Countertops, top-nailed Ebony Stained White Oak Hardwood Floors, Jenn-Air Pro-Style Appliances, and period Schoolhouse Style Light Fixtures.
Twombly Residence
This 1948 Ranch Style Home is located in Portland’s Mill Park Neighborhood. The original 1948 kitchen was in need of replacement after two generations of bright yellow and red marmoleum adorned the floors. The cabinets were replaced with new Knotty Alder Silverline Medallion Cabinets manufactured in Oregon, granite patterned laminate countertops, high quality vinyl flooring, and a fresh coat of paint and trim. The new appliances include a new range, dishwasher, disposal, micro-hood, and refrigerator. One of the specialty features was constructing a pantry cabinet with pullout shelves to fit within the original pantry constructed in the home.
Lashua Residence
This 1961 Ranch Home is located in North Portland’s St. Johns neighborhood. The 1960’s kitchen was due for a replacement to prepare the home for sale. The entire kitchen was removed and a new kitchen was reconstructed with updated electrical, new eco-friendly cabinetry, solid granite countertops, new appliances, and flooring. The home was soon put on the market and sold in a short period of time.
Bell-Greener Residence
This 1935 Traditional Rural Home is located in beautiful Damascus on a 3-acre ranch. The kitchen was in need of an update keeping with the character of the existing home. We installed beautiful beadboard wainscot, chair rail, and baseboard, a new range hood, trim around the cabinets, and two handblown glass pendant lamps over the kitchen sink that was specially made for our client by a friend as a wedding gift.
Saturn Residence
This 1947 traditional style home is located in NE Portland’s Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood. Our client’s goal was to maintain the original character of the home while providing new plumbing throughout the home, a new Master Bathroom, and updating the main floor Bathroom and Kitchen floor with eco-friendly materials. We started by replacing all of the existing galvanized water supply lines in the home with new pipes. The Master Bathroom was totally demolished and a new shower, window, toilet, pedestal sink, mirrored cabinet, lighting fixtures, wall heater, and tile flooring were installed. The main floor bathroom had beautiful woodwork details and glasswork that remained while taking the tub enclosure to the studs. Beautiful tile was installed on the walls around the bathtub and new plumbing fixtures finished off the space. The Kitchen floor was removed (all four layers) and replaced with eco-friendly Cork flooring and a new Energy-Star dishwasher to update the space. This was the first phase of work in the Kitchen and we look forward to starting the second phase in the coming year.
Wilburn Residence
This 1959 Ranch style home is located in SE Portland’s South Tabor Neighborhood. The Kitchen was in need of a makeover and we were up to the task! The appliances were only a few years old and remained in the new kitchen. The original 1950’s cabinets were in excellent condition and refinished and new hardware installed to blend the original charm of the house with fresh new countertops and backsplash, flooring, plumbing and lighting fixtures, and paint. The countertops were created using 18”x26” Verde Butterfly Granite slabs that added a high-quality, yet affordable finish to the kitchen. The backsplash was completed using white subway tiles and a black liner tile as an accent. The old linoleum floor was replaced with new porcelain tiles that bring an upscale-earthiness into the space. A high-quality deep bowl stainless steel sink and European goose-neck faucet were added for our gourmet client to assist in cleaning up after spectacular dinner parties. The beautiful apple green walls complimented the slight “verde” hues in the granite and maintained the 1950’s character of the kitchen with a 2007 twist!
