Loughney Residence Patio

This beautiful newer home is located in the Claremont neighborhood of Hidden Valley.  Our Clients wanted to increase their outdoor living space for their family of four.  The home was constructed with a minimal sized concrete pad and small overhang to shelter a small portion of the patio.  We constructed a new exposed aggregate concrete patio to double the size of the existing patio to create a larger outdoor living space.  An exposed cedar Patio Cover was constructed with integral skylights to preserve sunlight entering the Living Room inside.  The cover was roofed to match the existing house with gutters and a rain chain.  Now the Loughney’s have a large outdoor living space to entertain during inclement or dry weather.  Who is ready for a BBQ!

Holmgren-Traylor Residence

This 1954 Hillside Ranch is located in Southwest Portland’s Hillsdale-Bridlemile neighborhood. Our goal was to keep the project as “green” as possible. The exterior trellis was unstable and smaller than the patio and needed replacement. We constructed a beautiful new Cedar Trellis from Forest Sustainability Council certified timber, re-painted the exterior of the home with Low-VOC paint, and constructed a landscape wall and steps with interlocking concrete stones. Our use of FSC certified timber allowed us to order the wood cut to the size we needed. This resulted in less than a single trash bag worth of waste lumber. Our impact on the environment was mitigated on a job well done!
